Interstellar Collages with Eugenia Loli

Beneath the Fake Veneers is a Dark Sense of Humor
Posted by Gestalten—11/2015

Artist Eugenia Loli creates interstellar digital collages using analog photographs from across the decades. Originally from Greece, Loli now lives in California, and the influence of the Hollywood Hills is reflected in the glitz and glam of her work. However, beneath the fake veneers of pearly whites and red lipstick is a dark sense of humor with children casually playing with water pipes and busty brassieres as the main attraction in a packed theater. Loli admits that Julien Pacaud inspired her to take up collaging, and her work echoes Pacaud’s trademark decade-defying pastiches.

Eugenia Loli was one of many artists featured in our book The Age of Collage. Browse and buy the book for a broad scope of collage artists throughout the ages.
