Food Scans by Caitlin Levin and Henry Hargreaves

Charting the Months through Nature’s Artistry
Posted by Gestalten—11/2015

Artists Caitlin Levin and Henry Hargreaves see no fault in playing with their food. For their series Food Scans, the duo collected seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs and organized them into bouquets on their flatbed scanner. Sorting the produce into piles the prime month for harvesting, Levin and Hargreaves mirror and multiply the scans of their vegetables, reproducing the beautiful patterns and symmetries devised by nature.

Chefs, food stylists, and photographers are constantly innovating the visual aspect of the food and beverage industry. Explore the work of other creatives pushing the limits of epicurean curiosities in our book The Delicious.
