MeMo by BAM Arquitectura

A Sloping Single-Family Home
Posted by Gestalten—06/2017

Buenos Aires is known as the home of perpetual sunshine, decade-spanning architecture, and a vibrant cultural mashup; the three come together in the MeMo House by BAM Arquitectura. Built for as a single-family home, the building caters to the client’s passion for gardening while emphasizing sustainable solutions and durable materials. With the curved staircase loping between the levels comes a sloped planter, luscious with local plants. The building’s structure has a cement skeleton: sturdy and clean, it lowers the ambient temperature and cools even further as fresh air blows through the ample windows.

What makes a house a home? It’s a question that architects around the world continue to ask themselves as they approach new projects. Is it the cozy embrace of a parlor or the welcoming greenery that lines a backyard patio? Discover the tips and tricks in our inspiring selection of Gestalten books about architecture
