The Incandescent Lamp Shines a New Light to an Old Technology
Posted by Gestalten—10/2016

In the last decade, the warm glow of incandescent bulbs has fallen out of vogue. As lighting technology rapidly advanced, the often energy-hungry filament lighting has been quickly replaced by LEDs and fluorescent tubing. However, for the Missing Dining Table Collection, a team of designers has shine a new light on the old technology. Capitalizing on the heat that incandescent bulbs give off, the Solaris lamp funnels the excess energy and acts as a hot plate to keep a meal warm or as a space heater in the colder seasons.
